SALESIANS OF DON BOSCO
The Salesians of Don Bosco”is an international society founded by St. John Bosco popularly known as Don Bosco. Catholic priests and Brothers who are members of the Society known as the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) work for the development and education of the young especially those at most risk. There are around 15,000 institutions that are being run by the Salesians, all over the world. Through its 3000 Schools, Colleges, Technical schools and youth centers in 136 countries, the Salesians of Don Bosco serve all young people irrespective of religious differences or social inequalities. The system of education imparted at educational institutions run by Salesians are based on the principles of Don Bosco’s Preventive System, i.e., reason, religion and loving-kindness. The Rector Major (also known as successor of Don Bosco) is the head of all institutes of the Salesians of Don Bosco. The present Rector Major is Ángel Fernández Artime (since 24 March 2014)
